French Montana Wave Gods 2 is finally landing this week. The joint project with Max B, titled Wave Gods 2: Cosmos Brothers, arrives Friday, May 22 via Coke Boys Records, with confirmed guest appearances from Ye and Rick Ross.

The release date is now listed on Apple Music’s pre-save page as May 22, 2026, a push back from the original April 24 window the duo announced earlier this spring. The album is the long-awaited sequel to French’s 2016 mixtape Wave Gods, which itself featured Kanye West on the standout track “Figure It Out” with Nas.

What’s confirmed on French Montana Wave Gods 2

The album rolls out under Coke Boys Records in partnership with Defiant Records/EMG. Official press materials list Rick Ross and Ye as the headline features, alongside Max B across the full tracklist.

The lead-up has been heavy. The duo’s single “Ever Since U Left Me,” built around a sample of KC and the Sunshine Band’s “That’s the Way (I Like It),” hit No. 1 on both the Mediabase Rhythmic Radio Chart and Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart — a career first for Max B and a third No. 1 in that format for French Montana.

The final pre-album single, “Smoking Part II,” dropped May 8 with Max B and Rick Ross. The track was debuted live during French Montana’s Verzuz battle against Rick Ross on Apple Music, where Max B made a surprise appearance to perform it.

The Ye feature and the “Unlock” snippet

The Ye-featuring track on French Montana Wave Gods 2 is titled “Unlock,” and French Montana has confirmed it himself. The rapper shared a snippet of the song on his Instagram Story earlier this week, lining up with the same audio clip that began circulating on X.

Multiple outlets covering the album rollout have since referenced “Unlock” as the Ye collaboration on the project. The snippet runs roughly 25 seconds and gives fans the first proper preview of how French and Ye sound together on the new album.

The full track is expected to land Friday alongside the rest of Wave Gods 2: Cosmos Brothers. Coke Boys Records has not yet released the official tracklist, but with French himself sharing the snippet, “Unlock” appears locked in as the album’s flagship Ye moment.

The Kanye–French Montana history

A Ye feature on French Montana Wave Gods 2 would extend a working relationship that goes back over a decade. The two have collaborated multiple times, including “Figure It Out” with Nas in 2016, and French and Max B both received credits on Ye’s The Life of Pablo for the “Siiiiiiiiilver Surffffeeeeer Intermission” track that sampled Max B.

Max B’s involvement is the bigger story structurally. The Harlem rapper, freed from prison in November 2025, has been rebuilding his catalog at speed. Coke Wave 3.5: Narcos arrived in January, and Cosmos Brothers is positioned by the label as the duo’s “fullest statement yet.”

Tour rolls out a week after release

The Wave Gods: Narcos Tour kicks off May 24 in Albany, New York — just two days after the album drops. The 27-plus-date co-headlining run hits Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston before wrapping in late June.

Other possible features on Wave Gods 2

Officially, Coke Boys Records has only confirmed Ye and Rick Ross as features on the 27-track album. The full tracklist remains under wraps until Friday, leaving plenty of room for surprise appearances across the project.

Based on French Montana’s and Max B’s recent collaborative history, several names have surfaced as strong candidates in fan speculation.

What to watch on Friday

The official tracklist is expected to drop alongside or just before the album. Key things to confirm on release: whether “Unlock” appears on the project, whether the Ye feature is a solo verse or a group cut, and which producers handled the bulk of the album beyond confirmed contributions tied to the singles.

The album will be available on Apple Music and all major streaming platforms at midnight ET Friday. Tour tickets are on sale now via the official Coke Boys site.
