Artist

Ye

Born in Atlanta and raised in Chicago, Ye initially gained widespread industry recognition as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, helping shape JAY-Z's legendary 2001 album The Blueprint with his signature soul-sampling production. Against industry expectations that he remain strictly a producer, he launched a monumentally successful solo career with his debut album The College Dropout (2004). Over the next two decades, he completely altered the trajectory of popular music through a string of critically acclaimed masterworks like Graduation (2007), 808s & Heartbreak (2008), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), and Yeezus (2013). Parallel to his massive musical footprint, he built a multi-billion-dollar empire in the fashion industry with his revolutionary Yeezy brand, though his later years have been heavily defined by highly publicized erratic behavior, political controversies, and a shift toward independent, collaborative music eras like Vultures and Bully.
