Deante Adam Johnson, born November 18, 1999, records as Summrs. The rapper and singer is one of the founding figures of pluggnB, the subgenre that grew out of SoundCloud in 2018 by pairing plugg production with melodic R&B vocals. He first appeared on Weiland's "Who's Better" in April 2018 and built a run of projects including Endeavor777, Devotion, the Bellworld tapes and Isolation. Pitchfork called his 2019 single "Should've Known" with Cash Bently the must-hear rap song of the day. He signed with Victor Victor Worldwide and Capitol in 2021, left the following year and moved to 10K Projects. His debut album Fallen Raven arrived in 2022, and "Marble Floors" from the Nightfall EP plus his "GO2WORK" feature on Yeat's Lyfestyle widened his audience in 2024.
