Q Steven Marsden, who records mononymously as Q, is a singer, songwriter and producer from Broward County, Florida. His father gave him the name Q hoping it would mark him out, and he grew up singing in a church choir and visiting his father's recording studio. He released the short-song compilation Thoughts in March 2018, followed by his debut album Forest Green in 2019, which pulled soul and acoustic pop into hip-hop production. The Shave Experiment arrived in 2020 and was reissued as a Director's Cut with five new tracks in 2021, and "Take Me Where Your Heart Is" became his most streamed song by a wide margin. Soul, PRESENT followed in 2023, the mixtape 10 Songs in 2025 and the album DO YOU SEE ME? in August 2026. He works in a falsetto-led alternative R&B lane built on vulnerability rather than polish.
