Born in Memphis, Tennessee, she was homeschooled until fifth grade, attended Melrose High School, and grew up singing in her church choir before losing her voice and switching to rap at 16. She is the eighth of ten children. Her 2022 single "F.N.F. (Let's Go)" with Hitkidd went viral on TikTok, reached the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for Best Rap Performance at the Grammys. She signed to Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group that July, and "Tomorrow 2" with Cardi B became her first Hot 100 top ten. Her EP Anyways, Life's Great entered the Billboard 200 at number 11, and she followed with "Yeah Glo!," "Wanna Be" with Megan Thee Stallion and the album Glorious. She won Best New Hip-Hop Artist at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards.
