DJ Drama

Tyree Cinque Simmons, born April 22, 1978, works as DJ Drama. Raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, he bought his first mixtape on a trip to New York at 13 and started making his own soon after. He moved to Atlanta for Clark Atlanta University, where he met DJ Sense and Don Cannon and formed the Aphilliates. His Gangsta Grillz series became the most important mixtape franchise of the 2000s, hosting definitive tapes for Lil Wayne, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Fabolous, Meek Mill, Tyler, the Creator and Snoop Dogg. He was T.I.'s DJ, released Gangsta Grillz: The Album through Grand Hustle and Atlantic, and co-founded Generation Now with Cannon in 2015, the Atlantic imprint that signed Lil Uzi Vert and Jack Harlow. His ad-libs are as recognizable as most of the rappers he hosts.
