Billyracxx is a rapper, singer and visual artist based in Houston. Born in Florida, he moved to Texas as a teenager and began releasing music in 2014 under the name Billy Ocean before adopting his current alias. His early work leaned on raspy, pitched-up vocals and horror-adjacent production, and he has since moved toward catchier, more melodic writing without giving up the conceptual framing. The 2019 project Religion, mixed by ChaseTheMoney, sharpened his profile, and he rolled out the multi-part release Butterflies across several months in 2020. He built his audience through SoundCloud and YouTube rather than radio, and works closely with director and designer King Minzly on the cinematic visuals that accompany his releases. He describes his own process as chaotic and refuses to set stylistic boundaries, calling himself an alien in interviews.
