DeMario DeWayne White Jr., born September 22, 1991, records as Moneybagg Yo. The oldest of three, he was raised by a single mother in the West Junction-Walker Homes area of South Memphis, sometimes without lights or running water, and dropped out of Mitchell High School in twelfth grade. He came up on the Memphis mixtape circuit influenced by Boosie, Yo Gotti, Juvenile and Future, and signed with Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group in 2016. Federal 3X reached number five on the Billboard 200 in 2017 and broke him nationally. Reset, 43va Heartless and Time Served followed, and A Gangsta's Pain debuted at number one in 2021 with the top 20 single "Wockesha." He has a Grammy nomination and won T.I.'s Trapper of the Year award in 2021.
