Gazzy Fabio Garcia, born August 17, 2000, records as Lil Pump. Born and raised in Miami, he became one of the central figures of the SoundCloud rap wave of the late 2010s, building a persona around minimalist beats, short repetitive hooks and deliberate provocation. "Gucci Gang" reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017 and went quintuple platinum despite hostile reviews, and his self-titled debut album for Warner Records reached number three on the Billboard 200. "I Love It" with Kanye West gave him a second major hit in 2018, followed by "Esskeetit," "Drug Addicts," "Butterfly Doors" and "Be Like Me" with Lil Wayne. His second album Harverd Dropout arrived in 2019. He has released independently since, and his influence on the era's minimalist trap production is larger than his chart run suggests.
