Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Toliver grew up heavily immersed in music through his father, who was a rapper during the city's iconic early-2000s Swishahouse movement. His massive breakthrough arrived in August 2018 when his show-stealing guest feature on Travis Scott's Astroworld track "Can't Say" instantly skyrocketed his profile, leading him to sign a joint venture deal with Scott's Cactus Jack Records and Atlantic Records. Since then, he has established himself as a dominant industry force, building a highly successful solo discography, anchoring massive collaborative hits like Internet Money's "Lemonade," and welcoming a son with his long-time partner, singer Kali Uchis.
