Dinner Party is a jazz, soul and hip-hop supergroup made up of multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin, pianist Robert Glasper, saxophonist Kamasi Washington and producer 9th Wonder. The relationships run deep: Martin and Washington met in a high school jazz band in Los Angeles in 1992, Martin and Glasper met at jazz camp in 1996, and 9th Wonder produced Glasper's Black Radio. Martin, Glasper and Washington had all worked on Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly, and 9th Wonder produced "Duckworth," which gave the four a shared musical language. Glasper and Martin came up with the group while touring London in 2019. Their self-titled EP arrived in 2020, followed by the remix album Dinner Party: Dessert, which was nominated for a Grammy, and the full-length Enigmatic Society in 2023.
