Dwight Equan Grant, born March 6, 1974, records as Beanie Sigel. The Philadelphia rapper signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records in 1998 and released his debut album The Truth in 2000, which reached number five on the Billboard 200. He led State Property, the Philadelphia collective he organized with Freeway, starred in the group's self-titled film, and scored his only Hot 100 entry with "Roc the Mic." The Reason and The B. Coming both landed in the Billboard 200's top five, and the latter produced "Feel It in the Air," the song most associated with him. The Solution closed out his Roc-A-Fella run in 2007. Multiple prison sentences interrupted his career, and he later self-released further albums independently. In 2026 he announced the joint album Kiss the Mack with Jadakiss, ending a long-running feud between the two.
