ANKHLEJOHN is a rapper and producer from Washington, D.C., who has stayed independent across a prolific run of albums and collaborative EPs. He works in a lane rooted in 1990s mafioso rap and dusty boom bap, writing in coded, image-heavy verses over loops he often selects or produces himself. He founded his own imprint and has released projects at a steady clip since the late 2010s, including the album As Above So Below and the joint record Honey Sweeter Than Blood with Da$H.
