Swae Lee released his sophomore solo album Same Difference today, April 3, via Eardruma Records and Interscope Records. The 16-track project positions the Rae Sremmurd vocalist as a solo artist in his own right, showcasing the melodic instincts that have made him a go-to collaborator for names like Post Malone and Travis Scott.
The album arrives eight years after Swae’s debut solo LP Swaecation, a nine-track project released in 2018 that featured fan favorites “Guatemala” and “Offshore” with Young Thug. Earlier this year, Swae informed fans that he had turned in the album, generating significant anticipation from both listeners and longtime producer Mike WiLL Made-It.
Same Difference features guest appearances from Post Malone, Jhené Aiko, NAV, French Montana, Rich The Kid, and Slim Jxmmi. The album opens with “Tomato/Tomáto (Same Difference),” a track that sets the tone for the project’s overall approach. Other standouts include “Mural” with Jhené Aiko, a reunion with Rae Sremmurd partner Slim Jxmmi on “Working Remote,” and the closing track “Take My Heart” featuring Post Malone.
In the lead-up to the release, Swae dropped music videos for “Don’t Even Call” featuring Rich The Kid and “Flammable,” the latter produced by Rosen Beatz, known for his work alongside Young Thug. The “Flammable” visual, directed by Logan Meis, is set against a Southern backdrop, with Swae cruising through bayou waters on a fanboat and wielding a flamethrower in a nod to his Mississippi roots.
The album blends trap production with Swae’s signature autotune melodies, keeping features limited to let the vocalist take center stage throughout. With Same Difference, Swae Lee makes a case that his voice has always been one of hip-hop’s most distinctive instruments — and that he has more than enough range to carry a full project on his own.
