Snoop Dogg released his 22nd solo studio album, 10 Til’ Midnight, on Friday (April 10) through Death Row Records and gamma. The album’s cover art pays homage to N.W.A’s iconic Straight Outta Compton, signaling Snoop’s intention to root the project firmly in West Coast history while looking ahead.
In a press release, Snoop framed the album’s title as a metaphor for personal growth and readiness, describing 10 Til’ Midnight as a space for reflection, choices, and forward movement.
Tracklist and Production
The 14-track project includes appearances from Swizz Beatz, Trinidad James, Peezy, Kanobby, Shawn Louisiana, and October London, with production by Pharrell Williams, Rick Rock, Soopafly, Nottz, MyGuyMars, Erick Sermon, YoungFyre, and Snoop himself.
The album opens with “Step,” featuring Swizz Beatz, a track built for both the club and the block. From there, Pharrell-produced “Lied 2 U” shifts into a more melodic lane early in the tracklist, with Snoop leaning into singing alongside his rapping. “Slid Off” and “Stop Counting My Poccets” bring a harder edge, while “OG to BG” and “17 Rules” find him in full mentor mode, addressing the younger generation directly with lessons from 35 years in the game. “Dogg Wattup Doe,” featuring Detroit rapper Peezy, links two regions over a layered melodic beat, and “Pop My Shit” with Trinidad James leans into a rougher, trunk-knocking sound courtesy of YoungFyre.
“Leave That Dogg Alone” and “Bread Under the Bed” reinforce his standing in the culture, pushing back at critics while flexing the life he’s built. “No Ticcet Needed,” produced by Soopafly and Erick Sermon, smoothens things out, and “Long Beachin’,” produced by Nottz and featuring Shawn Louisiana, serves as a love letter to his hometown of Long Beach, California. The album closes with “QTSAMYAH” featuring October London, a smooth, reflective cut that ties the project together thematically. The full tracklist runs 35 minutes and 28 seconds across 14 songs — no filler, no bloated runtime.
The Companion Short Film
Alongside the album, Snoop premiered a companion short film also titled 10 Til’ Midnight. Directed by Luis De Pena and Yaslynn Rivera, the visual leans into classic West Coast gangster film aesthetics, shot primarily in black and white with bold red and blue accents.
The film follows a heist-style narrative centered on two characters, Ru Little and Do Wrong — both played by Snoop — whose paths diverge as the story unfolds. The cast features appearances from Ray Vaughn, G Perico, Hitta J3, and BLK ODYSSY.
A private screening was held at the Death Row compound ahead of the album’s release, followed by a Q&A session moderated by DJ Hed, where Snoop and his creative team discussed the project’s direction. The film dropped on March 27, with the album following two weeks later — a deliberate rollout that positioned the visual as the entry point into the world of 10 Til’ Midnight.
Snoop’s Death Row Legacy
This marks Snoop’s first album since Iz It a Crime? in May 2025 and his fourth release as the owner and CEO of the resurrected Death Row Records — the label that launched his career in the early ’90s under the leadership of Suge Knight. Owning the label that once defined his career adds weight to every bar on the project, turning what could be a legacy victory lap into something with real stakes and personal meaning.
10 Til’ Midnight is available now on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
