A Safe Place To Be Wild is the seventh studio album from New Zealand-born singer, songwriter and producer Jordan Rakei, out October 30, 2026 on Fontana. It follows 2024’s The Loop and the collaborative Between Us EP released in April 2026.
How the album was made
Rakei wrote most of the 14 songs while serving as Abbey Road Studios’ first-ever Artist in Residence, working there several days a week for close to a year without set creative rules. The album deals with self-acceptance, vulnerability and creative freedom. Lead single “Enemies,” released on July 15, 2026, leans into a 1970s psych-soul sound.
