1. A Great Chaos (2023)

A Great Chaos is where Ken Carson stopped sounding like a promising Opium artist and started sounding like the most technically capable one. Released October 13, 2023, it debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 with 49,000 album-equivalent units and turned distortion into structure rather than decoration — “It’s Over,” “Fighting My Demons” and “Jennifer’s Body” all use the blown-out low end as a rhythm section. A seven-track deluxe followed on July 5, 2024. It remains the clearest, meanest statement of the rage sound made by anyone other than Carti.

2. More Chaos (2025)

More Chaos is the commercial breakthrough: released on his 25th birthday, April 11, 2025, it became his first No. 1 album with 59,500 album-equivalent units and also topped Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. It is a wider record than its predecessor — more melody, more space, more willingness to let a song sit at mid-tempo — and that broadening is exactly what got it to the top of the chart. It lands second because the peaks on A Great Chaos are higher even if the floor here is more consistent.

3. xperiment (2026)

xperiment is the most ambitious thing he has attempted and the hardest to place this soon. Released July 3, 2026 through Opium and Interscope, it runs 22 tracks and features Playboi Carti twice, plus Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Destroy Lonely and 2hollis, with production anchored by F1lthy, Art Dealer, Outtatown and 2hollis. The rollout — cryptic teasers and hidden USB drives holding unreleased material — matched the record’s willingness to break its own formula. 4. X (2022)

X, released July 8, 2022, peaked at No. 115 on the Billboard 200 and got the coldest reception of anything in the catalog. It is the sound of an artist with the Opium aesthetic fully in place and none of the songwriting to fill it yet. Worth hearing as a document of the transition, not as an album you return to.

5. Project X (2021)

The 2021 debut is a starting point rather than a record. It did not chart, and the vocal presence that carries everything after it is only intermittently there. Its value is historical: it is the first full-length Opium ever put out under Carson’s name, and the trajectory from here to a No. 1 album in under four years is the fastest anyone on the label has moved.
