Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson, born March 9, 1990, records as YG, short for Young Gangsta. Born in Compton and raised in Paramount, California, he represents the 400 block of West Spruce Street, the source of the 4Hunnid name he uses for his label and clothing line. He joined the Tree Top Piru Bloods at 16 and started the Pu$haz Ink group with DJ Mustard in 2008. "Toot It and Boot It" went platinum and led to a Def Jam deal, and his debut album My Krazy Life reached number two on the Billboard 200 in 2014, produced almost entirely by Mustard. Still Brazy followed in 2016 with the protest single "FDT," and "Big Bank" and the 4Real 4Real and My Life 4Hunnid albums extended his run as the most consistent voice in modern West Coast rap.
