Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., born September 25, 1980, records as T.I. Raised by his grandparents in Atlanta's Center Hill neighborhood off Bankhead Highway, he began rapping at eight under the childhood nickname Tip, shortening it to T.I. out of respect for Arista labelmate Q-Tip. He is credited alongside Jeezy and Gucci Mane as a founder of trap music, a term his 2003 album Trap Muzik put into circulation. He co-founded Grand Hustle Records in 2003, and his run through Urban Legend, King, T.I. vs. T.I.P. and Paper Trail made him one of the biggest rappers of the decade, with the number one singles "Whatever You Like" and "Live Your Life." He has served multiple prison sentences and built a parallel acting career across ATL, Ant-Man and Boss.
