Brian Joseph Burton, born July 29, 1977, works as Danger Mouse. Born in White Plains, New York, and raised in Spring Valley and Stone Mountain, Georgia, he studied telecommunications at the University of Georgia, DJed for the campus radio station and released trip hop records while still a student. He broke through in 2004 with The Grey Album, an unauthorized mashup of Jay-Z's The Black Album and The Beatles' White Album that became one of the most discussed records of the decade. He formed Gnarls Barkley with CeeLo Green in 2006, teamed with MF DOOM as Danger Doom, launched Broken Bells with James Mercer of The Shins, and worked with Karen O on Lux Prima. He has 22 Grammy nominations and six wins, including Producer of the Year in 2011, and produced Black Thought's Cheat Codes.
