Czarface is an American hip-hop supergroup formed in 2013 by the Boston underground duo 7L & Esoteric and Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck. The three had already worked together on "Speaking Real Words" and "12th Chamber" before deciding to release everything under a single name. The project is built around a comic book villain persona shared by all three members, a nod to Scarface in name and to Marvel and DC iconography in its artwork, packaging and merchandise. Their self-titled debut arrived in February 2013, followed by Every Hero Needs a Villain, A Fistful of Peril, Czarmageddon! and a series of team-up albums with MF DOOM and Ghostface Killah. They have kept a steady independent release schedule with heavy vinyl and comic tie-ins, and recorded Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer with English actor Tom Hardy under his rap alias.
