Antwan André Patton, born February 1, 1975, records as Big Boi. Born in Savannah, Georgia, and raised in Atlanta, he met André Benjamin at Tri-Cities High School and the two formed Outkast in 1992. Across six albums the duo turned Southern rap into a critical and commercial force, with songs including "Elevators (Me & You)," "So Fresh, So Clean," "Ms. Jackson" and "Roses." Their 2003 double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below won three Grammys, and Patton's solo half produced the Hot 100 chart-topper "The Way You Move" with Sleepy Brown. After the duo split in 2007 he signed to Def Jam and released Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty in 2010, which reached number three and drew wide acclaim. He followed with Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, Boomiverse and the Sleepy Brown collaboration The Big Sleepover.
